INTRODUCTION
20 years of accumulated
experience, insight, and knowledge of the computer and software industry
gained during technology's integration into business. Today his focus is on
Information Security as the VP Information Security at Morgan Stanley,
where he is reducing the myriad areas of data security and vulnerabilities into
priorities and tasks. His goal is to be on offense in Information Security while
also on defense preventing attacks. He draws on extensive business and technology
expertise to cast vulnerability into business risk in terms that business leaders
understand.
He started in software development on PL/I and Cobol on mainframes, expanded
through small PC systems, client/server software and web-based systems, through
DOS, OS/2, Windows, NT, and Unix, across IT, LAN/WAN, and website operations,
as software developer, Application Architect, Sybase and Oracle DBA, Operations,
Project Manager, Product Manager, and Executive leadership roles.
He has been leading
software and technology efforts for small start-up companies
and very large corporations, across the entire software product lifecycle, for
internal projects, high-volume websites, data integrations and feeds, mission-critical
infrastructure support, and commercial enterprise software.
His business domain
expertise spans banking, insurance, publishing, and commercial
software, but is concentrated in Wall Street. He knows first-hand about equity
and fixed income Syndicate, investment cost-basis and Research. He loves the
mathematical complexity of Commodities. Hands-on experience in all these areas
create broad perspective and ability to produce broadly-designed software and
process for specific business needs.
A unique leadership
style of directed active listening culls the best ideas out
of many and lays down a plan to accomplish multiple goals simultaneously. Repeated
delivery over weeks, months and years has underscored his success with local
and remote teams.
